I am a beginner. I want to learn the language because I have family in Rome and while I visit each year, I cannot communicate with them. I would like to be proficient enough to have a simple conversation within 6 months. I'm not sure how much time I would have to dedicate each week to achieve this goal, but I am willing to do what it takes. I am looking for a very experienced teacher.

My husband has expressed interest in learning Italian and I thought it would be fun for the 2 of us to do it together. We are beginners as we know nothing.
We just want to learn---talke d about retiring in Italy sometime in the far future and we are thinking about taking a trip out there next year as well.
I am looking for a teacher that can work with our schedules, make it fun for us, and to balance our 2 different learning styles.
Price is a factor - if we could balance homework with personal lessons and maybe CDs - that could help us all!
