I am a beginner and have not studied any Mandarin.
I am personally interested in learning Chinese. This could potentially be related to career advancement, but is also just of personal interest. I will travel to China late in 2008.
I would like to learn basic grammar, but put more focus on pronunciation and conversation.
To begin with, I would like to meet once per week for two hours. Potentially, I would be interested in two lessons per week.

Proficiency: Beginner, sometimes listen to CDs in the car. Currently only know present tense.
Why I am learning: I would like to be able to carry on a simple conversation with Hispanic people I meet.
Areas for improvement: conversation practice, since I seem to freeze and can't remember any words

I am a beginner and want to become an intermediate level Arabic speaker. I am learning Arabic because my wife and her family are Moroccan, and I want to be able to better communicate with her family.
