I am seeking instruction in Latin, both for the usefulness of the language in law and medicine, but mainly as a background for learning the other Romantic languages (i.e. Spanish, French, Italian, Portugese). I have strong linguistic skills and a background in English Education, as that was my degree choice for my BSc at LSU. I am seeking to reinter the workplace as a translator, and feel the study of Latin would be my first step in securing a knowledge base in the Romantic languages. I have three years of study in Spanish from high school. I have very limited knowledge of Latin at this time. I would desire a course in a Beginner level class. I want a teacher who is excited about the subject, as that is crucial to my own involvement and ease of learning. I am not working presently, nor am I in school; therefore, I have much time to devote to my endeavor of learning languages.

I am a beginner in Japanese and study ocassionally on my leisure time. I first began getting interested in the language in my freshman year of high school after a friend introduced me to the music. I want to learn Japanese because I'd like to be able to communicate better with others.
Recently, we had a group of Japanese exchange students in our school, I would have liked to have spoken to them more without being so limited to what little I knew. As for what areas need improvement, pretty much all of them.
I'm willing to dedicate as much time as possible to learning language. I only work on the weekends so it leaves me alot of free time during the week to study and practice.
I want a teacher who is fun and easy going, also a large amount of patience is ideal too because I know I'll be making mistakes and asking tons of questions.

I know simple phrases and words, but have never had lessons.
I wish to learn Japanese to be able to communicate with my grandmother. Also, I shall be studying abroad in college and wish to attend a school in Japan for one year.
I will need a beginner course in all areas of my learning experience and am eager to learn.
I would like to dedicate my after school hours and possibly weekends if need be. I am very determined to master the language.
Wh en taking lessons I want the environment to be relaxing, but not to the point that I shall be tempted to allow my mind to wonder. Hopefully my teacher/tutor will converse with me on subjects we both have in common, to have a sort of friendship.

I'm currently trying to learn the Finnish language. I am a beginner. I will be coming to Finland in June of 2008 for several months to visit family. While I'm there I would like someone to tutor me several hours each week-- anywhere from 1 to 5 hours a day. This tutor would need to speak English. Thank you.
