I have very little knowlege of Italian, and will be starting off as a beginner. I have some knowledge of French and Spanish that may help.
I'm seeking to learn because I would like to speak at least one other language and though Spanish may be more functional, I work in an environment that puts me in touch with many native Italians and I have developed a love and passion for the culture. It'd be very cool to be able to speak with them in their language.
I work full time (plus some) but I'm dedicated to learning, so how much time I'm willing to spend depends on what is necessary.
A s for what I'd look for in a teacher, I'd preferr a native speaker who can pace my lessons based on how quickly I can move through the material. Flexibility is key, as I have a forever changing schedule and it may be difficult to arrange for a rock solid schedule. I'd also prefer someone with some experience in teaching language vs. someone whose sole qualification is that they are a native speaker. (having a talent doesn't always translate into being able to teach it)

I studied Mandarin in High School (2 years) but I don't remember much.

I took Spanish I, II, and III in high school and always made A's and always had the highest grades in class. I had the highest average in Spanish in my senior class my senior year. I took Spanish I in college and did well also. I have always been good at the grammar part of it. It has been about 5 years since I have taken Spanish classes, and I have sort of lost touch w/ it since I don't use Spanish at all. What I want to be better at is talking fluently w/ spanish speaking people. I may want to use this in a future career and I am also interested in volunteer programs to help spanish speaking people learn english and could use these skills w/ that as well.
