Hi,
I am in the beginning stages for learning Brazilian Portuguese. My wife is Brazilian. She teaches/corre cts me as much as she can but she doesn't have the time to devote to it. I have travelled to Brazil one time and I relied on her to translate almost everything. I want to avoid this in the future. Also, I am interested in the culture and would like to participate in it more, the first step being to master the language.
I have from 4-8 hours a week (lessons plus study) that I am willing to devote to the study. I am looking for basically a patient teacher who is fluent in english themself and has the experience to teach the subject in a comprehensive way but with a concentration on the conversationa l aspect of the language.

I would like to learn arabic as a third language. I'm a beginner and I would like to have improvement in both grammar and conversation. I'm not sure just yet how much time I want to dedicate to it yet. I would like to learn Chinese because the culture, people, and country fascinate me. An additional benefit will be career advancement- but primarily I'd like to be able to converse comfortably and understand TV shows & movies in Chinese.
I am a beginner with no formal education in the area of learning Chinese. What I know, I picked up when I travelled to Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong in 1998.
I would like to meet at least once a week- either early morning (7am - 8am) or just after work (5:30pm - 6:30pm). I prefer groups as I learn well by listening to others.
I would like my teacher to be witty, interested in the living Chinese culture, have travelled much, and one who enjoys working with a quick learner interested in a broad range of topics including current international , business, and cultural affairs.
E xperience: Beginner w/ travel experience in China & Hong Kong, history classes (in English) on China

I am probably an intermediate, but I am the only Arabic teacher my students have and I need to improve my Arabic. I have studied on my own, for sometime, and I completed an intensive Arabic course this summer in Egypt, where I broke my ankle and had to miss some time in class. My weakest area is vocabulary, and the speed of verb conjugation. I understand present and past tense, but have not been taught future or any other verb forms.
