I am a beginner, a 58 year old businessman, who loves traveling, especially to Italy. I would like to learn conversationa l Italian. I am flexible with the amount of time I can devote to both learning to speak and learning to understand when spoken to. I have my own business and have as much time as I want to accomplish this. I would like a practical estimate from my teacher on how much time I need to devote to learning the language. I suppose my goal would be to be reasonably competant by summer, 2007.
The only quality I would look for in a teacher is to be committed to helping me accomplish my goal.

I am a journalist for an English Language Japanese Newspaper, the Japan Times.
I will be in Delhi from Sept 1 2006 until the middle of October, possibly longer.
I want conversationa l private or small group classes, 2 3 times a week with flexible meeting times.
I have lived in Japan for 2 years and passed the JLPT level 4 last year.
My goals are to pass on to level 3, and to improve my conversationa l Japanese as well. Kanji is a low priority now.
I used to be an English Teacher, so I am a very active learner.
