I studied Spanish through a 2 month immersion program in Costa Rica this past February and March. I am not fluent, but that is my goal. I need to practice speaking Spanish conversationa lly. By the end of my program, I was able to carry on a conversation with my professors, but I found that outside of the classroom, I still have trouble understanding and communicating clearly and effectively with others. I need to learn how to understand what others are saying when they speak at a normal to fast pace. I would also like to continue learning grammar. I would like my professor to know Spanish grammar as well as English grammar, if possible, so that I can better understand the parallels and differences between the two languages. I am learning the language for personal reasons. I plan to travel to Spanish speaking countries frequently and I would also like to have the ability to communicate with Spanish speakers in San Antonio, Texas.

I am very interested in learning conversationa l spanish. I plan to visit several latin american countries within the next 6 months, starting in July with Colombia. I do have a slight understanding of the language as I was raised in San Antonio with it's heavy hispanic population. I know enough to get in real trouble real fast.
