I am a beginning Hindi student taking a small group class and I want to begin taking lessons with a new teacher in early June. I am learning Hindi because I am a sociologist and I want to be able to extend my scholarship to northern India. I am a hard worker regarding homework, memorization and grammar but a very shy and tentative speaker when I am learning new languages. I am looking for a teacher who can work with me once per week, preferably with other learners, who is very patient and understands the way that I learn.

I am a beginner studying Mandarin on my own using a commercial DVD set. I am learning Manadarin as a personal challenge, just because I want to.
