I am a beginner.
My Grandparents are of Italian decent and immigrated to the US in 1910.
I would like to have conversationa l skills for our upcoming visit to Italy in September 2006.
I work full time, but would like to spend one or two nights a week to the learning process.
I have tried recorded audio instructions and have attended the University of Utah language class, but was unable to dedicate enough time to the class at that time.
I am looking for an instructor that can teach the language and present the proper accent.

Good morning,
I'm italian and I live in the States with my husband since January 2005. I studied English when I was in Italy but I can not say that I can speak english fluently ( I haven't been in England or USA before )and my educational background ( high school with an emphasis on humanities and a law course )didn't allow me to continue to study languages. I know the grammar rather well but it's very difficult for me express myself as well as I would like. I'd like to improve my English in order to have the possibility to talk with people and , who knows, to be able to be more present in the american society. I'm an housewife without children so I'd have a lot of time to devote to the study. I'd like my teacher to be competent and patient and the lessons instructive and stimulating. My husband is an engineer and works for an American Company...I think he also need English lessons !!
