My name is sharifa Abdus-sabur. While I am temperorily in the country (usa) for the next few months, I would like to continue to learn the arabic language fusha before returning to my new home in egypt.
I have already completed the first level and started the second level.I've forgotten the name of the book,I will place it here once my books are shipped to buffalo, insha'Allaah.
Along with vocabulary my former teacher also taught me some of the rules of grammer, which I would like to continue to learn. My last lesson was 3 weeks ago so,ideally I would like to roughly review the first levels again. I would also like to focus more on conversation, the rules of grammer and to enhance my understanding by reading books, writting sentences etc.
I can not stress it enough, I do not want a teacher who rushes through lessons unnecessarily . This is a language I want to learn for life, as I am muslim and living in a muslim country. It is dire for me to know/speak the language properly so that I can read the Quraan and speak with the people insha'Allaah.
My stay in Buffalo, NY will be brief, perhaps only 4 months. There after I will be visiting another state, insha'Allaah. I would like to be able to not only have classes in my home 4-5 days a week for 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day but, to also be able to contact my teacher via the internet for more help.
I would like to have a religious teacher, upon Quran and Sunnaah the way the prophet practiced it. And the companions and the first three generations understood it.A good teacher is hard to come by so, I'd like to stay in contact with my teacher for lessons through out my travel insha'Allaah.

I will be a beginner in German (I know a few words and numbers; that's pretty much it). I would like to learn German because I am looking at maybe spending some time in Germany for a Study Abroad Program or to visit later for a summer trip. I currently live in San Antonio, Tx. for school. I attend Trinity University and I am looking to major in journalism, english lit, or history. I would be taking classes over the summer ('06) and would like to take two to four lessons a week for an hour or two (depending on how many days a week I/you can meet). I would like a teacher who is interactive with their students (a teacher who wants to be there and teach; I want to learn from you), able and willing to explain misunderstand ings and is patient (language is not my strong suite, but I want to get better), offers different ways in learning (like reading, practicing communication actively, etc.), has credible experience with the language, and a teacher who will push me to do my best.

I am a beginner, but I have taken Spanish in high school and college.
I would like to learn Spanish because the man I am engaged to speakes fluent Spanish and his Abuela speaks only Spanish. I would like to be able to communicate with her. It is also important to both of us that when we have children that they learn to speak Spanish.
I need improvement in all areas.
