My wife and I are looking to learn/enhance our spanish speaking ability. We are looking to improve all facets of our spanish whether it be grammar/conve rsation. We are willing to do at least a couple hours of week of instruction. We want an instructor who is a native speaker and that can do one-on-one lessons.

To whom these words shall find: I sincerely hope to find an instructor..( native or otherwise) of Abyssinia origin; willing to teach the Amharic tongue of Ethiopia to someone like myself. I would describe my level of proficiency as 'beginner' when it comes to speaking,but writing and reading I am alittle more 'engaged' because of my many close friendships. It is because of these 'cultural' friendships; and the informative interactive exchanges between them,I have grown to delight in the rich histories of the Amhara peoples and their plight from the days of the Aksum Kings to the years of colonial annexations of Oromo to the modern federalizatio n of the Tigray; its war of independence and now the bright future of a rich historical region. I need to learn this language(alon g with Ge'ez,Oromo,T igrinya)if I am to fully understand my girlfriend,he r family and our friends,(who we indirectly force feed our american ideology and practices)... ..If I can just speak properly,writ e what I'm saying and register what I'm hearing..I would have accomplish a lesson within itself: One in which I am willing to place great effort in fulfilling (even if only a couple of hours per day minimum)..I don't see how my critique of any instructor would better my own experience,bu t it would cause me great pleasure to have a teacher skilled in the knowledge of the Orthodoxy...f or that if where if hope to begin and end my lesson (if it be the will of God!)..this would indeed show me his/her soul to be set forth on the path of 'good intention' and set my mind at ease. THANK YOU.

I have taken French as an undergraduate and completed the intermediate level. However, currently my French language skills (grammar, reading, conversation) need lots of review and have been out of practice for the last few years.
I am a graduate student studying ethnomusicolo gy focusing on North African identities and music cultures in diaspora (i.e. in France). Thus I need help with French to be able to communicate with French speakers, read articles, books in this language for research, and translate song lyrics.
I am also interested in continuing with Arabic--I have completed first year Arabic-- and learning Berber.

I would be in the BEGINNERS group. I do not know much about Italian but i would love to learn it. I have goals of also learning French and Portuguese. I already speak Spanish and English. I would like to be a Linguist in the near future, and I feel that those languages are very rare to find here in Texas. But I would enjoy learning and when the opportunity pops up show off my language skills to those in need. I have always been intrigued by language and culture, and i would like to expand mine. I would like to have at least 2 hours out of 2days a week. I need a teacher who will be patient with me, who speaks the languages as they are to be spoken in the original country, someone that I will be able to understand if they were to speak to me in English. Also I hope for the lessons not to be overly costly. I would like to know the cost of lessons up front, because that will also help determine my desicions.
