I am looking for someone to tutor me in Malayalam, the language of Kerala, India. I am very much a beginner, although using a guide I am able to transliterate .
The purpose of learning malayalam for me is to be able to speak with my guru in Her native tongue, and to help me in my travels in that area of India. There is a lot of volunteer work in Kerala that I want very much to participate in, and it is important that I am able to communicate with the people I work with.
I am very dedicated to learning this language, and the resources out there are very limited. I am ready to commit to as much time as an instructor can offer me, either in person, or via e-mail or other.

i am a beginner in filipino; my interest was sparked when i heard that much of it comes from spanish. I take spanish in school and i have for four years, so i don't know what i would be classified as (perhaps intermediate) and i love it and the culture - dance, songs, speakings it. It has become one of my greatest hobbies, and has sparked my interests in other languages that are like it (i.e. romance languages). Also i ahve taken filipino martial arts and my intructor is filipino i would like to relate to him better, but not offend him, i know that sometimes when gringos try to speak another language in front of a native they are offended. Another reason would be because i am a minority myself (black) i wish to reach out to others in general and all of those not just people with whom i share a language with. Basically, to learn how to write it wouldn't hurt, but mostly i want to speak it. I could dedicate as much time as it takes to get me up to speed, and as much as is required of me, i have never received less than an A in my four years of spanish, so evidently my zeal for learning foreign languages shouldn't be an issue. I would like my teacher to be down to earth; i am hoping for an informal learning atmosphere, but also one in which i feel driven to succeed. Thank you for your time in reading this and i hope that someone can help share the power of knowledge.
