Currently I speak a beginner's level. I know a lot of vocabulary however I ahve a difficult time putting them into sentences. I am a visual learner and I am confident that if I learn how to read and write this will not olny speed up my understanding but give me a stronger foundation. I am married to a Vietnemese/Ch inese man since 2002, however have known him since 1994. His parents do not speek English, however we communicate okay. I also have a great deal of opportunity with my business if I spoke more fluently with the language.
My BIGGEST desire to grasp this challenge and finally just learn the language is b/c I have 2 sons under the age of two. I am just starting to see how: (1) I believe I am holding my son's knowledge back and (2) He is starting to come home knowing more than me. I know more than it seems but when I am in front of family, I get embarressed and I blank out. My son understands everything I say, but my grammer and structure is not correct but I suppose he has learned my style.
My husband and I feel strongly that we want our boys to grasp vietnemese before English. I want to be realistic and say that I believe I can devote 1 hour a night. But if more is needed especially in the daytime I can work it out. This is a crucial time for me and I am willing to give it ALL. As mentioned earlier, my goal is to read, write and speak in Vietnemese, however, if the speaking is the teacher offers than okay.

I am a beginner who is interested in learning Mandarin. I am looking to learn this language because my fiance speaks this language and she is learning English so that we can be together but I would like to learn Mandarin to help us communicate even better. She currently lives in China so it is very hard for us to talk on the phone even.
I need to learn from step one on how to speak the language. I would like to spend at least a couple of hours a week trying to learn Mandarin. I am looking for someone who has patience and can relate the words easily with the English Language.
