Hello, my name is Dan Weiner and I live in Winter Park, Florida, near Orlando. I am desparately interested in learning Vietnamese and want to find a private teacher. My field is languages and linguistics and I've studied many languages so know how important it is to have a good instructor. I want to learn in order to speak with friends both in person and on the internet and to visit Vietnam at some point. I would like to go through a text book and learn how to speak and understand the language well and I'm not afraid of hard work and grammar. I am blind and do not drive, so I would be very happy to have someone who could come to me and offer a few hours a week of study for a negotiable price, but I can also arrange to meet at a venue of your choice. I am very serious and motivated and have been looking for a tutor for a long time, I am a beginner but a very fast learner. I need someone who'se English is good as the people I've spoke with so far, though very nice and charming, do not speak English well enough to explain things. Years ago, I had two years of high school German language studies, and three years in college. In graduate school, I passed the German language requirement for Fulbright Grant study (but did not get the grant). This summer I am visiting friends and relatives in Germany, and would like to brush up on conversationa l German. (Ich habe viel vergessen.) My weakness in grammar is with endings in various cases and tenses.
