My proficiency level is beginner. I have basic understanding of the alphabet and pronunciation of most letters and words, though I am still a bit slow. The reason I have for wanting to learn Russian is I plan to vacation in St. Petersburg near the end of October this year. I would like to spend possibly a few nights a week with a private tutor, going over common conversation, phrases, and expressions. I am not particular whether the teacher is male or female, though I would like someone somewhat close in age with myself(30 years old). However, they need not be exactly that age.

To whom it may concern, I am a serious student wanting to take on, and develop my skills in a foreign language. My girl friend, whom I am very serious about is from Bulgaria, and I have tried my best to lean the Bulgarian language. With her help I have been able to read and pronounce the cyrillic alphabet, writ simple words, and speak simple sentences. However, she doesn't have the skills to teach me proper grammar, and sentence structure so I can understand the relations of the language. My goal is to be able to read, write, and speak fluently. I am a beginner in learning Russian. I wish to learn quickly in order to communicate better with acquaintances in the Ukraine and Belarus. I am willing to spend several hours each day on the task, for several months, at least.
