My mother is a native Serbo-Croat speaker but my father was English and she never taught me to speak her language. All my family live in either Croatia or Serbia and I am desperate to learn how to communicate with them.
I am a beginner as I have tried using a book and audio CD pack from the library but did not get on with that method of learning.
I would like to start with weekly lessons. My main aim is aural communication . However, I also want to progress to being a competent writer or Serbian/Croat ian.
I have a car and am willing to travel for lessons.

I am learning Serbian for two reasons; 1) I love the sound of the language. It's beautiful. 2) I want to visit Serbia often and so being proficient in the language is helpful! I am a beginner and only know a handful of words and phrases. I need help in all areas really. The amount of time I dedicate to the lessons completely depends on the hourly rate offered. The qualities I am looking for in my lessons/ teacher is patience and reliability. Someone who can commit to helping me learn this language well and work with my learning pace.

I am a primary school supply teacher. I work in many inner-city, multi-ethnic schools and I feel that having a second language, particularly somalian, would be beneficial, especially when trying to communicate with parents. It is hard to put worried parents' mind at ease when issues arise when there is a language barrier in the way. I hope to be able to help with this, so my focus for a second language would primarily be conversationa l. I would probably need evening courses as I have a fairly demanding schedule during the day, but I could do 1-2 evenings a week. I am a complete beginner so I need someone with a lot of patience. I have always struggled with languages but I am prepared to work hard.
