Re:Knowing when a Hangul letter is first or last and which sound of vowel to use
Koreans pronounce "ㄱ" like "K" as a practice when it comes first or emphasized.
Actually most koreans cannot "exactly" distinguish the difference of K and G pronounce. (Including me) When you ask to some korean pronounce "Go", he/she may pronounce "Go" as a little like "Ko".
They haven't ever needed to distinguish it and they haven't trained to distinguish.
So, they cannot recognize that their difference about pronouces of "ㄱ". Koreans think they pronounce "Ko" and "Gu" as same vowel, but you will find the difference.

If you write "코쿠마" or "고쿠마", it may pronounce like "ko-Ku-ma".

Knowing when a Hangul letter is first or last and which sound of vowel to use
I need help knowing which letter sound is considered first or last and which vowels sound to use in a word.

For the word °í±¸¸¶ "ko-gu-ma" how can I tell when the Hangul letter ¤¡ for "g/k" is to be pronounced first as a "g" or last as a "k". That word °í±¸¸¶ when written looks like it should be "ko-KU-ma" not "ko-GU-ma".

Also, why is the ¤Ç vowel pronounced as "oh" also pronounced as "ew" and how can I know what sound applies when?

Thanks for any help!
