Hi Heidi,

It'd be great if you'd like another student. Jeg snakker litt norsk, men jeg egentlig trenger å prøve mer. Jeg kan snakker og skriver engelsk til deg hvis du vil.

Ha det bra

Re:Need Help with Norwegian
Hi Cas!

I'm from Oslo and can help you with some expressions from around here. There are a couple of expressions that you hear A LOT when kids your age speak around here and those are:

- Ikke sant = a fill in word that means "like" or "you know".
- Lissom = a fill in word that is being used in kind of the same way as Ikke sant.
- Seriøst? = are you serious?
- Kødda = I was just kidding around. Not a nice word among older Norwegians, as it's origin here is derived from a part of the male body... ; ) But it is used ALL the time among younger kids and people my age.

I'll think if I can come up with some other expressions as well : )

Need Help with Norwegian
Hei,
I'm a 14 year old female from england on a regular member account (so unable to message others, as I'm not gold) and reccently joined here. So, hallo :). But I'd like to know any norwegian (bokmal) slang that anyone knows, just general words used about and that can be used in informal conversation. I intend to either move to Kristiansand or Oslo when I move to norway (just over a year) so terms used around there would be of great help! :)

Thanks,
Cas

Want to learn Norwegian=)
Hi everyone! I want to learn Norwegian! I don't know any but I'm kind of trying to teach myself some. It's hard though when I don't know exactly how the words are pronounced! If there's anyone out there that can help me I'm not a gold member, so someone will have to message me. I'm very good at english and grammar and can help you if you need! Thank you =)

Hello TeNeal and Lena Dammann
I would thank you and Lena Dammann for help me..:D
TeNeal, you asked for some sentence: "I can speak a little German," = "Jeg kan snakke litt tysk", and; "Do you speak German or English?" = "kan du snakke tysk eller engelsk?" and; "I know English" = "Jeg kan engelsk".. The other sentences: "Hello" = "Hallo", "Es ist ein schöner Abend" = Det er en vakker kveld" or "For en nydelig kveld", "Tschüß/ Auf Wiedersehen" = "Hade or farvel", "Bis später" = "ser deg senere" or "snakkes", "Bringen Sie mir (bitte!) ein kaltes Bier" = "gi meg en kald øl" or "hit med en kald øl!", "Bitte helfen Sie mir/ Bitte hilf mir" = "Kan du være så snill å hjelpe meg?" or "Hjelp meg"..
