Hello Claire,
If you are still interested, I need a language partner in this area to help me practice Chinese, however I am still at a very low level. I will help you with English too. Would you like to chat?

Trick to slow down audio recordings
Hi guys, the following trick has served me well to understand sentences in that are spoken very fast and I also practiced pronunciation with it. The cross-platform program Audacity allows to slow down an audio recording by an arbitrary amount (say 30% for example) without changing the pitch. Just load your audio file into Audacity, select Effects->Change Tempo and select -30%. Afterwards one can select several seconds of interest and press 'l' to loop this segment over and over again automatically.
