"Praat Afrikaans of hou jou beck" That's so fun. I'm Dutch and Afrikaans sounds a lot like my language. We had to learn some grammar and vocabulary once, so if you'd like I'll see if I can translate it to English.

Need help with Afrikaans
My wife is Afrikaans and last time we visited SA I felt like I was putting her family out by making them translate every word (except lekker, I caught that one pretty quick). I know a few basic words but putting them together in a sentence is beyond me. We're going back this december and I'd love it if I didn't have to hear, "Praat Afrikaans of hou jou beck" as much. Anyone that could help, I'd appreciate...I can help with English (perfect grammar) and slang...as well as most regional differences (NYC, the south) Contact me if interested.
