Egyptian Recipe- Ferakh b'il Hummus (Chicken with chick peas) Really easy and good!!
4 Tbl butter 3-5 lbs chicken pcs trimmed of fat 2 medium onions chopped 4 cloves garlic crushed 1/4 cup chopped FRESH cilantro 19 oz. can of chickpeas 1 1/2 cups water 3 Tbl tomato paste 1/2 tsp allspice 1/4 teaspoon chili powder salt & pepper to taste
in a large skillet, saute chicken pcs in butter over med. heat till golden brown turn frequently.
remove chicken from pan and set aside (not completely cooked) add onions to same pan stir fry till start to brown. add garlic and cilantro and stir fry about 3 minutes. stir in remaining ingredients, put chicken back in pan and bring to a boil. cover and simmer over med. heat for 30 min or until chicken is well cooked. serve over hot rice

Please help with Egyptian cooking!
Any recipes would be greatly appreciated! Especially for really good food that reminds someone of home. Also, if possible, can you tell me about Egyptian spices and how to use them? I will learn how to cook eventually! (Inshallah)
