Asking questions

Hva spiser du?
I'm learning Norwegian, and have a basic understanding of statements vs questions.

Du spiser egg. = You are eating eggs.
Spiser du egg? = Are you eating eggs?

Then there is the question "Hva spiser du?" which translates as "What are you eating?" (Jeg spiser egg, selvfølgelig! XP)

I would like to know how one would ask "What is eating you?"

Sorry that this example is so absurd...I'm just interested in the principle of how to ask what is being done to me rather than what I am doing.
What are you eating? vs What is eating you?
Who are you painting? vs Who is painting you?
What are you chasing? vs What is chasing you?

Thanks in advance!

Re:Norwegian ?
Jeg heier på deg.
You can see people screaming "heia, heia" - like go-gooo! So you can write - Jeg heier på deg!!
You can try google translate - you will get quite good translation.

Lykke til!

Hi there,

Im writing to ask a native for a specific translation.
You see I am writing my sweetheart a letter, she is Norwegian and living in Stavanger.
Im writing in English, but I'd like to use a Norwegian phrase
(If it exists)

How do u say "I'm rooting for you"
(I hoping u will win)

Does anyone know what it is?

Best,
Niall.

Making sure this message means what I want to say
My great great great grandparents came from Norway. My maiden name here in America is methum which they changed from a similar norwegian name to make it sound more American. Can you tell me what this says? Translated?

du er i himmelen ser ned, takknemlig for som Gud ga meg mens du er borte. mor

I would love to learn more about where my family came from, our history, culture, and language! Can't wait to hear from someone!

Practicing Norwegian?
I'm not really looking for anyone in particular, you don't need to be a native speaker of Norwegian. I'm just looking for someone to have conversations with in Norwegian, get assistance on vocabulary and generally just someone to study with. If you're a native Norwegian speaker, I can offer English in return.

Hi Chiko, i`m a 23 year old student from Norway. I can speak English fluently with about 8 years of english speaking experience and i could help out. I am also quite interested in learning about Japanese culture and possibly language.
