Computers, T.V's?
Hello, I am from the U.S and was wondering what kind of technology you have in your classrooms? Do you have T.V's or Computers? How often do you use them?
In my school, we have the daily announcements scroll across the T.V. screen throughout the day. Our teachers are constantly using overheads and their computers to give us notes and other information.
Your schools probably use the same things, but I was just wondering if anyone's school is different. How many classes do you have in a day? Does your school serve lunch or do you get a break? How long is a normal school day for you?

At Sac State University, we have TV's with VCR's in some classrooms, but they can be moved around where they're needed by teachers who want to show VHS tapes.

That sounds kind of low-tech for a university, and it is. But we do also have special designated "smart classrooms" with built-in AV systems. There, teachers can have programming being played by the library media services center shown in the classroom on a screen, or they can plug a laptop computer into the system and show the class computer screen demonstrations, such as a power point slide show.

We also have quite a few computer classrooms, with a computer station at every desk, and we have classrooms set up for television broadcasting so that specified college courses can be broadcast on TV. They are equpped with TV cameras and microphones for the teacher and each student desk.
