Re:Catalan Culture and Islas Baleares
Hello, I think I can help you. I'm Spanish, not from Cataluña or Baleares, but, I can say that their culture is the same as ours. The just one difference is that they can speak Spanish and Catalan (that language is spoken is both places, but I think it might be little diferences, like some words, between the Catalan in Cataluña and in Baleares, but I'm not sure because I can just speak a little bit and I have never hear someone from Baleares speaking in that language). There are also some difference like typical food (for example in Baleares they have a dessert called "ensaimada" very good or a kind of inlaid similar to baloney called "sobrasada") and the parties they celebrate, but it doesn't mean they have a different culture. The just one problem is that they want to separate from Spain into their own country (that happens with Cataluña) and even the minor detail different between them and the rest of Spain, makes them think they're so different from us to say we're the same cultue and to be the same politic entity. Well I'm not sure that you know the Spanish culture so I'm not sure you've understood me, but if you want to know more about this, just replay me, or wait for someone from Cataluña or Baleares. Adèu! (bye in catalan)
