Using American slang when writing.
Non - native English speakers often make the mistake of using American slang words such as WANNA (want to) GONNA (going to) in their writing. I've noticed that Japanese people, in particular, do this. Use of such words may be acceptable in America, but it's unacceptable in other English speaking countries.

Actually, it's not necessarily acceptable in the US, either. I only hear/see it used by people who learned (or are learning) English as a second language or if I were to read my teenagers' text conversations. In normal every day conversation, it is not used.
