Hi all.
I just read "the alchemist". wow, what a great book.
did this book inspire anyone to follow their dream?
i now realsie that i must study art, that i was given a talent and must use it - instead of following the rat race and chosing a career based on money.

now i am reading "living loving and learning by leo buscaglia...
my nona (godmother) sent it to me from cyprus.

it too is a great book.. i reccomend it for anyone wishing to bring inspiration to their lives.

Well.. i didn't read "The Alchemist", only "Veronika..", I remember it was a strange and a bit crazy book with all this characters with broken lives. The most strange thing is in the beginning, for the Veronika's wish to die seems the most unnatural to me; I understand it but I cannot feel it, so to say.
And I'm very glad to hear someone's , you've realised that you are talented. What is talent, and how can you be objective concerning yourself? That is the very question that hinders many, and only true talents do not hesistate.

Re:the alchemist
Marina,

I have read "The Alchemist" several times and in fact it is ironic-I recommended the book today to another person because of the simple and inpirational journey that the protagonist "Santiago" undertakes toward his "Personal Legend". There are two passages in the book that I find particularly memorable- Santiago turning himself into wind and the "secret of happiness" conversation in the king's palace. It is a quick read and I often found myself laughing out loud at the situations and predicaments experience on the quest-

A great friend of mine once gave me the this very book which I had previously lent to her after she determined that I should re-read it and abandon the lure of corporate complacency and my pursuit of dreams that really weren't mine.

By the way, Congratulations on your recent decisions- it takes all kinds of guts sometimes to be strong but in the end you know you are right.

Hi Marina, The Alchemist is a great book you're right I like it and I think Paolo Coelho is as great as his books. Have you read The little prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupery? It's a wonderful book.
