The subject of the Roman Empire- Best authors or books?
To any European student interested in Roman history: what are the best books or authors on the subject of th Roman Empire? my favorite author so far is Michael Grant. He has a great breadth of work and is very incisive in his deductions about the Romans. As one may see, I am deeply intereste din this particualr tangent of history. Send me a message if you ar interested. Peace.

Romans themselves wrote quite a lot about
their own history. Tacitus is one of the
names coming to my mind. I do not know if
they discuss the topic from viewpoints
you need, but at least they were in the
middle of the happening events.
