I guess I use this word when I have had so little sleep, or such a busy and stressful day, that I can barely keep my eyes open anymore, when I am so tired that I can’t think straight.
This word can also be used when you have been trying to solve a problem and everything you have tried is not working, so therefore, you can say: “I have exhausted all possibilities”.
The word exhausted can also be interpreted as, “Draining something of its resources” – as in using something up completely or just “use something up”. For example: “Our supplies of fuel are now exhausted”.
