Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar is a famous writer, born in 1917. in Stolac (Bosnia and Herzegovina). His nickname 'Mak' in the Bosnian language means Poppy - red, quite often flower in the meadows. His most famous works are The stone Sleeper, The Deep Blue River, The Cruelties of the Circle... He died in 1971. in Sarajevo.
