MARLENE ABRAMS has now worked for over twenty years in the print media as journalist, editor and broadcaster. Her experience as a feature writer is exemplified by her publishing record with magazines, newspapers and in-house publications, in the UK, Singapore and Australia, namely:

B & T ADVERTISING, ABC MEDIA AND INFORMATION, THE LAW SOCIETY JOURNAL, MALAYSIAN AIRLINES, REGENT MAGAZINES, AMERICAN EXPRESS, SYDNEY PHOTOGRAPHIC, FILMINK and METRO MAGAZINE. Her experience as a broadcaster includes news-reading and features for SINGAPORE BROADCASTING CORPORATION in the 1980s, also documentary items for the BBC WORLD SERVICE.
Marlene also has a background in film and television as research-co-ordinator, writer and associate producer. A BA graduate in Education and Arts at London University, she is a qualified teacher who gained a postgraduate diploma in Film & TV at Hornsey Art College, UK. After freelancing as a film-editor, she worked for television in the 1970s as researcher/writer for THAMES, GRANADA and YORKSHIRE TV in addition to individual film producers such as ROY BAIRD (QUADROPHENIA) and EUAN LLOYD (WILD GEESE).
Marlene’s own consultancy, MANDRAKE FILM & VIDEO, has produced corporate videos for THE COMMONWEALTH BANK and THE MARITIME SERVICE INDUSTRY.
Academically, Marlene completed her Ph.D thesis in Mass Communications on the Singapore Media at NSW University, Sydney which was granted in 2002.
