Details: Experience Carsten Aveda Institute, N.Y.C., Student Hair Stylist/Clinic Floor •Trained in the French and British haircutting techniques. • Apply highlights and lowlights using the weaving and slicing method as well as the baliage technique. •Vast, comprehensive, and detailed knowledge of Aveda's professional plant-based hair care, skin care, makeup, Pure-Fume™ and lifestyle products. •Cut, trim and shape hair and hairpieces, using clippers, shears, trimmers and razors. •Provide hair care services to enhance the appearance of clients & specialized services that help client’s look and feel their best. •Offer beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair, makeup application, and manicures. •Advise clients on how to care for their hair after hair services; how to straighten, best ways to maintain chemically treated hair, ECT. •Strictly adhere to and maintain clean work areas and sanitize all work instruments by following the EPA rules, regulations, and guidelines. •Make appointments and keep records of hair color and permanent wave formulas used by regular clients. •Exhibit positive work attitude, use effective communication skills, and demonstrate dependability, •Applied water, setting and waving lotions to hair and wound hair on perm curlers and rollers. •Analyzed patron's hair and other physical features in order to provide the concise haircut/ color recommendations. •Administered therapeutic medication and advised clients to seek medical treatment for chronic and contagious scalp conditions. •Massaged and treated scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes, using hands & fingers. •Recommended and applied cosmetics, lotions, and creams to clients to soften and lubricate skin and enhance and restore natural appearance. •Cleaned, shaped, polished, & applied nail art on fingernails and toenails, using files and nail polish. •Shaped and colored eyebrows and eyelashes and removed facial hair, using depilatory cream and tweezers. •Excellent client consultation/communication skills.
