I have a very patient attitude when it comes to teaching and I do not rush students. I love to teach at the pace suitable to students and I am very sensitive to making sure that students understand my lessons. Most students find it easy to make me a friend and not just a teacher to them because I am always smiling and it makes the atmosphere very suitable for learning. I always try to know the difficulties that students are facing in English so as to help them better. I relate language teaching to communicative activities and most epecially to what is found around the learners's environment. This means that I can carry out teaching even with minimum infrastructur e especially in a country like Cameroon with its acute lack of basic teaching infrastructur e. I teach with techniques like role-play, telling of folktales, songs, riddles, jokes and proverbs. This technique helps keep up the enthusiasm of the students and even the least enthusiastic ones join in once they see how much the others are progressing. I try as much as possible to make even a one-to-one class fun and enjoyable. By the end of each course students coem out more communicative than they came in and depending on their course level. The uniquesness is the ease with which I conduct my lessons so much that the students don't find it stressful learning the foreign language. |
