I am looking forward to learn Japanese. I am a complete beginner, and have no previous experience in regards to Japanese. I wish to learn Japanese out of general interest and possible career development. I would like to learn all aspects of learning the language but would like to put focus on converstation al part. I know that learning a new language does take time so i believe this will be an ongoing venture and do not have a timeline in terms of when I would like to finish my lessons. I am currently interested in learning asian languages for everyday conversation. I have a great interest in learning Chinese and Korean. Planning a trip to Thailand for about 5 weeks in November 2008, I have absolutely no knowledge of the language but would like to be able to understand and talk a little bit with the locals. Do not really need to be able to read & write, mostly just conversation. I could dedicate about 1 to 2 hours a week for lessons, maybe more depending on the flexibility of the teacher's schedule & cost of lessons. I work during the week (9-5), so am looking to take lessons during evenings or weekends.
