I am a rank beginner. I have been to Mexico several times and feel that I would love to be able to communicate more effectively on future trips. I am also contemplating a trip to Guatemala in December or January of this coming winter and would like to feel comfortable in being able to understand what is being said, and in making my needs understood.
My job is such that I currently have 6 months off - until the end of January. So the timing is ideal to dedicate some intensive time to learning a new language. I would like to consider doing daily lessons for an initial period of time and then perhaps back off a bit as I gain some proficiency

I am just beginning in my understanding of the Thai system of writing and conversation. I have recently purchased a book by Benjawan Poomsan Becker. She says that it is important to hear the correct pronunciation , so a teacher (or tapes) are crucial.
Ear lier this year I completed a meditation course and a retreat to Intanon Mountain. I am a student of philosophy and would like to one day deepen my understanding of Thai thinking by reading and discussing Thai literature.
I am very busy with a wife & three children, a fledgling non-profit society and a health care practice but I will devote at least half an hour per day to study and practice and a 1 hour lesson per week.
I do not have a lot of money but will make this a priority. I am a registered massage therapist, skilled painter and capable mason. I offer all of these skills for barter if the teacher is agreeable. Otherwise, I will meet the fee-for-servi ce of $20/hour for beginners.

Hi,
I would like to learn Arabic and more specifically Morocan Arabic, for social purposes. It is important that i learn this language, therefore I will take it quite seriously. I am at a beginner level, however i do know the arabic alphabet and can read but with difficulty. With Ramadan on its way, its important that i start reading arabic with more ease. I am confortable with english or french speaking teachers,as long as i learn the desired language. As for the timing of the courses, i think it should be discussed once I meet with the teacher.
