I lived in Dalian, China for a year and really enjoyed learning Mandarin. I'd say I'm beginner, but maybe at the higher end of beginner. Somewhere between beginner and intermediate :) I took lessons once a week and got plenty of opportunity to practice while I was there, seeing as many people didn't speak English. Since being back in Canada, I tried to take a beginner 2 Mandarin course at the University of Winnipeg, but found it too slow and basic. I want the chance to practice my Chinese so that I don't forget what I already know, as well as advance my abilities. I can recognize some characters, but was never taught any writing skills. But mostly I just want to improve on conversationa l Chinese. One of the problems I had with the U of W class was that we didn't get the opportunity to think for ourselves and really USE the language, it was mostly just 'repeat after me' type stuff. I want a teacher who can challenge me, while using fun and engaging techniques. I can definitely commit to a one to two hour lesson a week, possibly more.

Basically a beginner. Had went to Mandarin School before, 2 hours a week, but was never able to speak the language. I want to learn because it'll be useful in the future. Need improvements in coversation, grammer, and writing. Willing to put 4 hrs a week into this. Looking for some some who lives near woodbridge, easy going, patient, and reliable.

I have studdied 2 years in high school, but because of lack of use i have lost a lot of it! i was just currently in mexico for a practicum and i am going to go back down in january to live there for a few months so i want to brush up on my spanish. i am willing to dedicate 1 or 2 lessons a week. i just want someone who can help me with my communication ! i don't necessarly need to learn grammer, although i would like to, the important thing is that i can communicate verbally.
