Dear Potential Teacher,
I am extremely interested in learning to fluently read, write, understand and speak Chinese (Mandarin).
My proficiency level is 0. (Absolute beginner!)
The reasons for which I desire to learn the language are mostly business related. I believe that China will be the next economic super power and do not want to be left behind. I also find the orient a fascinating place with much to offer and would love to take the opportunity to learn more about its culture and history as well. I've ordered a few books on China, which I should receive in a couple of weeks so that I can learn more about it in my spare time.
I understand that it is difficult language to grasp, but I am willing to put in the work needed.
I' m looking for a teacher whose native language is Chinese (Mandarin) and who is also fluent in reading, writing and speaking English, and has experience in teaching foreigners Chinese.
I would prefer if he/she would provide me with English/Chine se textbooks and work books that include audio CD's with authentic Mandarin speaking narration since tonal accuracy is very important to me and to learning the language. These I would use to practice and learn in addition to video conferencing. (I will pay for them, and the shipping of course!)
M y potential teacher should be a patient one and be available to give me 9 hrs of lessons per week. Someone who can start me from scratch and teach me up to an advanced/flue nt level without having to change teachers over the years. I can only afford to pay a maximum of $10 CAD per hour but I am willing to be your devoted student for at least 2 years or more. Hopefully my potential teacher is someone who loves to teach and is not in it for the money.

Hello, My name is Gisa Sainz. I have a passion for learning languages but never really thought I'd be learning Norwegian. After meeting a few Norwegians on my trip to Thailand three years ago, I became very interested in the language. I returned to Canada and signed up for an on-line course and learned a bit of the language. I then traveled to Norway to visit my friend where I ended up staying for about three months and learned some more. My boyfriend at the time was from Norway and we decided to come to Canada, but when we arrived we'd only speak English so I lost focus on my norwegian. Now that he's not in Canada anymore, I really have no way to practice. My knowledge is oneof a begginer and I would love to keep learning more and also practice it often. I love Norway and plan on going back at one point in my life, I believe that keeping my interest in the language alive will motivate me to go back to Norway.

I am intermediate. I learning English to atend Diploma Programa at Coady International Institute called Development based in Community from July until December 2004. I am in Halifax now at ILI. Now I want to improve conversation and to make phrases correctly. Since January until June I will dedicate to my language lesson. In my teacher I am looking this qualities: Paciently, - to make me efeciently in English conversation, - to make me to became good in lesting (to hear what native speaker says, the radio and TV news), - to find for me some voluntary weeks were I can practisize urgently my English, - sociality, - friendly. Really I look for tutor because now I am at International Language Institue unti ended April 2004.
