I want to learn Japanese so I can study aboard for grade 12. I want to spend a academic year there but first i need to learn the language. :) I am a beginner but very willing to learn. I would like to learn Arabic to further my linguistic skills and further my chances of gaining employment in my chosen career. I have no previous experience in Arabic, written or spoken. I am willing and wanting to dedicate two hours weekly to my lessons and as much time as it takes outside of lesson time (take home tests, homework etc.)
I speak English and French fluently, and would like my instructor to be of patient nature and understand it may take more time for me to pick up written as opposed to spoken language skills.

Currently conducting PhD Research on Culture, Tourism & Development in West Bengal with an NGO and two groups of folk artists: Patachitra and Baul & Fakiri's. My study revolves around the enhancement of community capacity to understand and engage in tourism development.
Current proficiency is basic - 10 lessons from Ram Krishna Mission in Kolkata, very basic conversation through self study and also basic conversation.
Improvemen ts - I want to become more fluent in Bengali in order to communicate with the artists that I presently work with and to start learning bengali as a second language for future work in West Bengal.
2- 3 lessons per week, currently self-directed studies 1 unit per day with review the following day.
Quali ties - a teacher that will go through conversationa l and grammar (which I struggle with), patience and ability to find creative ways to challenge me in real life situations.
I have to improve my communication s skills as currently I can understand a little more than speak. Often shy at speaking. . .

I want to learn German because my friend and i are visiting his family there for about a month in the summer. He is fluent in German, but me not so much, I'd like to learn as much as possible before the middle of the summer. I have not been taught German before so i am a beginner.
