I would like to teach English as a Second Language in Japan and in order to be accepted as a canadiate I need to know Japanese. I have no background so I would be a beginner. I am a current university student and don't have too much time but am willing to make time for lessons. I'm not sure how much time would be best, 4 hours per week. I would like someone who actually knows what they are doing!

I am a beginner in terms of learning Icelandic but I have until May 2010 before I leave to Reykjavik for a three month residency.
