Description |
My name is Lauren and i'm very young. I'm just starting highschool and would like to learn a second language. My interest would be korean. I really like south korea, and to be blunt, i think the language sounds pretty awesome! I only know a couple words in korean so i am definitely a beginner. I want to learn korean because i have family members that are korean and would like to converse with them in another language. Also, it would benefit any future careers and for everyday. I have little to no expierence in hangul... I would have to improve on everything. The time i would be willing to dedicate would be a few times a week, perhaps on the computer by voice calls/video calls and chat [msn] . My parents wont be able to take me to any private lessons in person, and my dad would rather me to not learn the language. but to me, i would love to which is why using the computer for lessons would be the best. The qualities im looking for, is one with alot of patience, supportive,ca lm, friendly and laid back. I'm not looking for a strict teacher . I need one that will take the time to teach me calmly and one that will teach at the pace that i can learn.

Description |
I am a beginner in both Kurdish and Turkish. I am actively studying Kurdish on my own but have a false start in Turkish.
I have chosen to learn Kurmanji because it is the language of my boyfriend and his family. I have strong beliefs about the link between language and culture, and I prefer to communicate with them in their mother tongue. As I hope to become a part of their family, it will be my language, too, and I would like it to be the language spoken in our home with the new family we start. My children will be Kurdish, and I want to be able to teach them and speak it with them. My ultimate goal will be to speak fluently at an upper advanced level. In the short term, I really need to work on basic conversation skills, especially regarding family and culture. I will also need some help with writing. I want to put a lot of time into my language lessons, possibly 4-10 hours a week (perhaps on rotation) for at least the next couple of months (come September I'll be working on my practicum for teaching English) before lessening the length of lessons. What I'm looking for in my lessons is a communicative approach that focusses on meaning and developing fluency. I have a tendency to be the sort of learner who's bent on accuracy at the cost of communication .
I have already found a Turkish teacher through the site. Thank you.

Description |
I have not started learning either language. I would like to learn these languages because I have always had a great interest in the Japanese and Korean language and culture. I have many other activities during the week so one hour a week alternating which language every second week is my plan. (Example: Every 1st & 3rd week of the month I would focus on Japanese than every 2nd and 4th week of the month I would focus on Korean.) I am looking for a teacher with great experience in either Japanese or Korean or both. One who is patient and polite and can teach clearly. And one preferably with some sort of teaching experience. I also expect to be using resources such as workbooks and such to gain the full learning experience.
