I am a native english speaker just starting to learn Mandarin. My goal is to be able to converse with Mandarin speakers in a casual setting.
I am a total beginner so I would need help in all aspects of the language, but I am willing to put in significant effort in mastering pronunciation . I also want to learn vocabulary, grammar, and writing.
I would be willing to dedicate two hours a week to language lessons, not including the time I would spend learning on my own.
I'm looking for a teacher that will not be satisfied until I have mastered the concepts that he/she is teaching.

I am definitely a beginner. I know a few words and phrases, but that's about it.
My fiancee is Vietnamese, and I want to be able to talk to her family more easily, and we want our children to speak the langauge. (So that they can talk to their grandparents. )
I think that one lesson per week would be a good start.
My fiancee has given me lots of impromptu lessons, but we aren't consistent with them. Having a regular teacher would give me more determination to carry on with it. Also, she is perfectly fluent herself.

Biginner in Vietnamese. Just married to a Canadian-Viet namese woman and would like to communicate with her family more effectively. Need to be taught basics from grammar to conversation. A teacher who teaches Northern Vietnamese would be better as her family is from Hai Phong. Would have three hours a week.
