I would like to learn Japanese because I only speak one language, English. I'd feel more comfortable if I could at least say I was bilingual and amongst all the languages of the world Japanese has always been the one I am most interested in along with the culture of Japan. I know a minimum amount of the language though I have been around it, and hearing it close to 10 years through subtitled TV shows from Japan.
I'm looking to start off slow at first and go from there, so 1 hour a week basically to start. I'd prefer it to be in person either at a public space or my home.
Qual ities I am looking for in a teacher; not shy(soft spoken), education background in Japan, has spent time living in Japan and knows it's culture, has spent at least 3+ years living in an Native-Englis h country.

I originally took a Russian Language course in University, and saw how fun it is and I now have a new found love for linguistics as a whole.-Though I still only Intermediate in Russian I would like to become fluent if possible-
I think you can learn so much about how cultures are by how they interact through language and i find it fascinating- especially hearing the specific idioms and sayings.
I definately need to know more vocabulary.
I just finished learning all of the cases (NOM, PREP, ACC, GEN, DAT, INST)
I am looking for a nice teacher- I react badly to stress so they really need to be approachable people, and a teacher who really cares for their students and how much they learn.
I really want to learn as much as I can and not forget anything
I 'd like to work on it all summer- at least- so a discount would be nice- or maybe a large class so its a bit cheaper
Th ough I am happy doing once a week lessons- just to keep on top of things.

I would like to learn Greek for career advancement. I have no knowledge in the language I would be at a very basic beginner stage. My father and Grandfather speak Greek. My goal is to eventually become fluent in Spanish for traveling to Central and South America. I have taken a beginner class at Gabriela Mistral School and have the notebooks and textbooks from there. I also have other Spanish textbooks I could use and learn from with my tutor.
I would say that I have a basic knowledge (some nouns, verbs, conjugation) and do well with writing and reading but need more help building my confidence with speaking. I studied French for 10 years and find that helps with learning spanish.
I am looking to meet once or twice a week for one hour. I would love to have a teacher/tutor that has worked at Gabriela Mistral then I would already have the text books and could continue in formal classes there in the fall.

I would like to improve my beginner to intermediate Spanish. I would like to volunteer in Latin America for at least one year. I am working on volunteering in Bolivia and if I get the volunteer job I would need to leave in June 2012 so I have one month to learn as much as possible. I would like to be more fluent in conversation and more specifically learn the words used in the tourism marketing industry. I need to improve my grammar and my accent. My primary focus is to improve on my conversation skills. I am currently unemployed and aiming to volunteer in Latin America in June or July. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and can assess the language skills I already have and help me to be able to work in Spanish speaking countries. A native Spanish speaker is preferred.
