I am wanting to learn Beginner level Portuguese for personal interest. I would then like to graduate to an Intermediate level and then to the Advanced. My goal is to learn Portuguese as a fluent second language. I would like to dedicate 1-2 hrs per lesson at 1-2 days/week . But I am also open to suggestion if a longer lesson plan is recommended. The qualities I would like from my teacher is to be organized with a set lesson plan each session, an understanding of effective teaching techniques - I am a visual learner and tend to understand material more efficiently when it is presented as such, flexibility with evening weekday hours, and present 'homework' to work on inbetween sessions. I am serious with my interest in learning this language and I would like my teacher to be just as serious to teach it to me.

After spending 2.5 weeks in Thailand just last month, i have made plans to return next year to discover more of what the country has to offer. While touring around i really made honest attempts at using certain phrases from my Thai language book. Most times i butchered the words/ phrases, but the Thai people truly appreciate your attempts.
My Proficiency level would be Beginner. That being said gramatically and conversationl ly a level 1?
As my work schedule rotates from days, evenings and nights, my hope would be atleast twice a week in class, coupled with home online studies, several times a week.
I would have to say the perfect teacher would be proficient in reading, writing and speaking. They would have to have lived and or studied there. Possible completed a degree program /or equivalent. A person who is friendly and interactive.
