My 13 year old son (nearly 14)has an interest in languages and has been teaching himself Vietnamese for the past nine months or so. He needs professional direction and I am trying to find a teacher who may be able to help him during the up-coming summer holiday. He would probably be able to travel to London.
Clea rly, my son is studying the language at an elementary level and he aspires, at present, to the Institute of Linguists Introductoy Level examination. At school he is studying French, Russian, Latin and Greek.

By birth I am a British. English has been my mother tongue. However, I am interested learning Bengali language for some personal reasons. My Fiancee is a Bengali lady from India. I want to learn Bengali so that I can communicate with her parents as well as her community in India.
I am interested to learn Bengali more in terms of conversation. I am serious about the course and intend spend some good time for the learning course.

I would like to start learning Arabic MSA or similar. I have recently retired , have more time available and want to learn an interesting langauge to broaden my horizons. I have learnt small amounts of German, French, Italian and Latin but would like to learn mor eof the Arabic concepts of language and life styles.
I would like to be able to read and write Arabic to read news bulletins and listen to Arabic music and radio.
I have as much time as is required to be able to learn the language.
I have a poor memory and therefore need a teacher that can create mental images and mind sets in me to help me short term memory. I have already started but looking at web sites and the Teach your Self Arabic script.

I am an absolute beginner in Hungarian (2 months only). I am learning Hungarian for pleasure since I know a few Hungarians (in Hungary)and would like to be able to undertake simple conversations with them and be able to make myself understood in Hungary ( they are fluent in English). I want to progress beyond the'phrase book' approach. My greatest concern is grammar. The rules are complex but obviously some are more important to know than others. Also, there are times when I just do not understand why you use, say, 1st rather than 2nd person etc. I spend about one hour each day but would initially be looking for say a one , perhaps a two hour, session per week. I am looking for a teacher who can explain the reason for a particular construction. NOTE: I am a bit hard of hearing , which is not a good start, so a strong rather than light voiced teacher would be required.
I have two CDs with vocabulary and pronunciation excersises and am slowly building up my vocabulary.
