I am a beginner, having taken two w/e seminars a few years ago. I want to learn Sanskrit (NOT HINDI) because it is the mother tongue and very beautiful. I want the language to be remembered. Sanskrit isn't exactly a conversatonal language. I want to be ble to read and understand it. I would like to meet weekly or everyother week and study the lesson inbetween.
I want a teacher who fully respects this holy language and conveys the sacredness through teaching.
Hi story of the Bajans, sacred tales would be delightful as well.

I am a beginner in learning the beautiful language of Arabic. I am interested in starting out with Moroccan Arabic at this time and will expand to other forms of Arabic in the future. I have purchase a Moroccan Arabic Phrasebook that has in a small why started me in the right path, plus I have someone I know who has been helping me with my learning process. He has been wonderful and I appreciate all he had done. I would like more help from someone else who will help me learn this language possibly a little faster. I know some basic things like omi-mother, bba-father, zawji-husband (f) bendi-daughte r(i think i spelled that correctly)..a nd i know a few other things. I have a book that i take notes in as i learn new things so I don't forget. My main thing is not only learning the words and spelling I would like to learn the pronounciatio n and the calligraphy. I am a beginner and have not studied any Mandarin.
I am personally interested in learning Chinese. This could potentially be related to career advancement, but is also just of personal interest. I will travel to China late in 2008.
I would like to learn basic grammar, but put more focus on pronunciation and conversation.
To begin with, I would like to meet once per week for two hours. Potentially, I would be interested in two lessons per week.

Why I am learning: I would like to be able to carry on a simple conversation with Hispanic people I meet.
Areas for improvement: conversation practice, since I seem to freeze and can't remember any words
