Hello, I want to learn French (speaking, reading and writing). I am a beginner. I have always been interesting in learning the French language, but did not have the time to do it. I am now retired (I took early retirement at the age of 50) and cannot think of anything more interesting or fun to do. If the cost is not formidable, I would make a very serious student. I have all the time in the world to devote to learning this beautiful language. I have absolutely no other obligations on my time.
I am very up-to-date on web and internet technology. Please provide me some cost estimates and describe how the 'long-distanc e' nature of the training may be handled (via email, text chatting, etc.)
The most important quality I am looking for in a teacher is patience and genuine interest in the progress I will make. Many thanks for your time.

I'm definitely a beginner. I am learning French in hopes to join the Peace Corps upon college graduation and get stationed in Africa. I intend to spend as much time with my language as possible, I am also a full time college student right now, so that amount of time will vary. I'm looking for a teacher that is understanding and patient. Also, someone that can offer multiple learning opportunities , (conversing with other students, activities, online/ computer exercises).
