We live in Germany and our visiting Relatives in San Diego for 2 weeks. My daughter has to start a french school in the fall and the kids have all had a year of french (4 hours a week). I am looking for a private tutor for a total of 8-10 hours. She should come to us in Rancho Bernardo or be near by for us to go to her. The private classes should be 2 hours 2 Times a week for the first 2 weeks in August. My daughter speaks fluent English and German. We will be bringing our own books.

I am a beginner with the Chinese language. I would need to completely start from scratch. I am learning this language because I am planning to work in Asia for 2 years, maybe even long term, for about 5-10 years. I just recently got back from Indonesia and realized that I had a passion for Asia. I picked up Bahasa Indonesia pretty easily but have had difficulties in learning Mandarin. I quickly realized that I enjoy learning languages and Mandarin is one I would love to be fluent in. If I am going to a nation like Singapore or China, although it isn't necessary, I feel it would be very beneficial to learn. A friend of mine from Singapore has been trying to teach me but she suggests I seek a one on one teacher to help me in the process.
I would like to spend 3-4 hours a week studying Mandarin, possibly more. I would like to learn the Chinese writing as well as speaking. The qualities I would love to see in my teacher would be patience, dedication to teaching, dedication to seeing progession in students, organized, and deliberate in lesson plans. A teacher who utilizes their time wisely and can teach the lesson in such I way that I can easily pick up or understand the teaching. Also, a teacher who can incorporate some fun into the lesson! I would love to learn specifics, good grammar, pronounciatio n, and conversation skills. I want Mandarin to be like my first language!

I am interested in learning Greek. I am a beginner but I learn fast. My interest in Greek was inspired by my reading of Homer's Illiad. Of course this happened many years ago
(presently I am 51 years of age) but ever since I became interested in the Greek culture I thought that perhaps one day I could attempt to read Greek classics in the language in which they should be read. Time for me is not a problem as long as I have a tutor/teacher who is willing to teach me.
