I am an American law student who is looking to learn Mandarin Chinese. I have no previous instruction in Manarin, so I am at the beginner level of proficiency. (However, I should mention that I have some background in conversationa l Cantonese). Basically, I want to learn Chinese for personal fulfillment and also for potential career advancement. I would like to dedicate a minimum of 5 hours a week to language lessons if possible.

I have been studying Japanese for a little while and I think I'm somewhere between beginner to intermediate. I currently take Japanese class at school but I find that we are learning the material too slowly and would definitely like to get ahead learn a lot more. I am very serious about learning Japanese and hope to become fluent in the future. If possible I would like a teacher who can also teach me more about the Japanese culture.
I want to learn Japanese because I am of Japanese descent and would like to connect more with my heritage. I would also like to be able to apply Japanese in the future for business and if I ever live in Japan.
I would like a teacher who preferably has at least some experience with teaching Japanese though I feel everyone deserves a chance. A timely teacher is of utmost importance. I am interested in learning about all aspects of the Japanese language and culture. It would be nice perhaps, to have a teacher that can even take me to or meet me in Japan and help me to apply what I've learned.
A ll though in person would be great, I'm also open to online methods. Price can be negotiated.
