I visited Nepal for the first time in January. My speaking and reading ability is very basic. I want to speak and write Nepali in order to communicate with friends in Nepal. I am a graduate student in Asian history and knowing Nepali may also be relevant to my research interests.

I spoke hangul fluently as a young child, as well as english, and was able to translate for my parents. I no longer speak it, though I can understand it to a degree. I've just come back from spending a little less than 3 months in Seoul, so I can understand a little more. I can read it though I don't know all the rules by heart. I am hoping to learn for personal advancement and if it 'clicks' again then possibly for a career openings. I would like to have a larger vocabualary, and be well rounded in the language. I can dedicate a decent amount of time in lessons concidering this is a goal of mine. I would hope that my teacher has the capability of teaching me to my strengths, visually, repetition, writing, and if not then being patient and yet demanding.
