I've taken a year of Italian in college, but have forgotten a lot of it. I want to know the language of my ancestors to better understand the culture, and to be able to communicate with family and friends in Italy when visiting. I think I need more work on conversation. I learned a lot of verb conjugation, but don't remember it all. I'm confident it will easily come back to me! I think I could dedicate 2 classes per week with a private insturctor, in person or online. I'm available mostly evenings, and am looking for a teacher who can accommodate. I like teachers who push and encourage their students, and earnestly care about their progress.

I am a beginner, at best, in the Japanese language. I wish to learn because I love the culture and languages. I am also considering going to teach English in Japan and want to have a moderate command of the language to allow me to peak over the language barrier. I will dedicate as much time as my teacher will allow and would like a serious tone to the lessons. I am a friendly person, but I also am serious about studying. I'd also like a bit of flexibility to compensate for my ignorance in certain areas of Japanese culture and customs.
