Hi, my name is Barrett. I am a native English speaker and wish to learn Japanese. I tried to learn on my own, but it was too frustrating. I am married to a Japanese woman, and many people ask, 'Why doesn't she teach you?' However we tried that and it doesn't work. I would say I am intermediate: I can read and write Hiragana and some Katakana, I was in Japan for two weeks in October of this year so I was fully immersed, I know a wide vocabulary but mainly simple objects and phrases, and I can listen very well but I am not good at speaking fast. I would hope to have private tutoring once or twice a week on weekends (I work during weekdays). I live in Winter Park (very close to Orlando). I would like to be taught by a native Japanese person who grew up and visits now and then. I have a good ear and a very fast learner (as long as I can hear the language!). When I was in Japan I learned an incredible amount in two weeks, but sadly I had to leave and how I am very modivated to learn Japanese! Please contact me!

I'm interested in learning Russian. I am an extreme beginner (I presently don't speak a word of Russian). My daughter is currently in Latvia (via a foreign exchange program), living with a Russian speaking family. I'd like to converse with her in Russian when she returns next June. I would appreciate a teacher who is patient and enjoys teaching (even an ignoramous like me). One who won't rush through a lesson plan but who will take time to help me develop proper precise word pronuciation (even if it's one syllable at a time) as well as proper grammar (verbal and written). Also a teacher who is knowledgable of effective learning resources so I can progress in between lessons. Given work schedule lesson times on weekdays are typically difficult but could be arranged in late evening. Saturday or Sunday afternoons are more workable for me.
